About the Worms
What are red wigglers worms?
Red Wigglers (eisenia fetida), are a special species of earthworm that are adapted to decaying organic material. They thrive in rotting vegetation, compost and manure and create nutrient rich castings and worm tea.Â
Â
With a proper bin, bedding, aeration and moisture control, Red Wigglers can be kept indoors all year round and will even multiply! They can also be placed outside in garden beds and outdoor composts once the temperatures are consistently above freezing.Â
Â
What are worm castings?
Â
Worm castings are essentially worm poop, also known as gardener’s gold. It is the nutrient rich, all natural by-product of hungry red wiggler worms! You can use worm castings in your indoor or outdoor plants to give them a nutritional boost.Â
Â
What is worm tea?
Â
Worm tea (also known as compost tea) is essentially worm pee, it is the nutrient-risk, excess moisture from red wiggler vermicomposts. Use a small amount (approx a tsp) on your indoor or outdoor plants, or use a ratio of 1:10 worm tea to water for over 2L of natural liquid fertilizer.Â
